Our First Snow Day!!

Not the best picture but you get the idea.

This morning when we woke up the girls wanted to go out. Pretty!!

As Hannah and I were leaving school yesterday, we realized that it was sleeting!!! Oh the excitement that filled the both of us. As we drove further east it begin to turn to rain --However, as we got closer to home the sleet caught up with us. But the meteorologist were saying -- we won't have any accumulation. Yeah right -- we had about and an inch in some places and the temperature begin to drop quickly.

Chris and Kristin were stuck at the middle school for a basketball game (Chris helps out with the scoreboard even though we have no parental connections to the middle school anymore--they love him there). There were 5 adults with lots of kids still there so he hung around until more left. He finally headed home and we were glad. We didn't get our automated phone call that school was out until a little after 9pm. But, it came and we were hooting and hollering. We slept until about 8am and have done nothing and it is almost noon!!! I love it.

We are going to get somethings done around here that we have put off because we never have enough time. Chris and I have a Christmas party to go to tonight and I have to make an appetizer. To be honest, I would rather not go but I have a feeling that it won't matter-- I will be overruled.

So, it has been a while since I have blogged. I have wanted to but we have been really busy. I can't think of when our last weekend wasn't filled with something. So having today off unexpectedly has been awesome.

Chris and I (now don't laugh to hard--it is pretty funny) are coaching Hannah's 9 and 10 year old basketball team. Yes, I to still laugh at times. We do enjoy it but it isn't softball or football. Kristin is playing rec basketball. She wouldn't try out for the high school team and her gym teacher let's her know quiet often that she should have tried out. She is turning into a really good basketball player. Hannah will start indoor soccer in January--now that is her sport!! She loves it and I think she probably dreams it too. We will start softball soon after the first of the year.

We went to the Carolina's for Thanksgiving!!! I loved it. We started out our Thanksgiving Break with the stomach virus again--yes again!!! The girls headed east with Dad early Tuesday morning and Chris and I followed late on Tuesday afternoon. I really enjoyed the trip both ways. Chris and I got to spend 8 hours just talking and enjoying one another without interruptions-- which is rare. (side note--- I LOVE him so much). We had Miss Beasley with us and we talked all evening long. So we got there about 1am on Wednesday morning and crashed. That morning, after we got up, we began Thanksgiving-- with the entire family. Maw-Maw and her whole family!! On Saturday morning, Chris, the girls and myself heading back west. We stopped in Asheville, NC to look at the entries from the National Gingerbread House contest that was held at The Grove Park Inn. We have done this a few years back and it was just as exciting this time. I have a lot more pictures posted on my Facebook if you would like to take a look.

Amazing Creations!! and this isn't even the winner.
Maw-Maw and I making Deviled Eggs. Actually, she is making them -- I am taking notes (that is mental notes).
We are looking forward to a great Christmas and can't wait until next Friday. Once we are on Christmas Break it always feels more like Christmas. I never really feel like I am in the mood until we are out of school. Hannah has her Christmas program at our church this weekend (that usually helps get me in the mood). The Leiper's Fork Christmas parade is tomorrow afternoon at the same time as Kristin's bball game. We always attend but I guess we won't this year. Bummer!!
