Man-- It has been a long time!!!! I can't tell you a good reason other than life:) My aunt emailed me today to ask why I haven't updated lately-- no excuse!!! So I did promise that I would try to give an update tonight. If you are on Facebook most of you have been able to keep up but if you aren't here it goes.
I think it has been since February-- I am sure a lot that I can't remember nor probably want to remember.
It has been 5 years since we moved here. 5 years!!!! Some thought we would be back, others wished us well, others wanted to come with us!!! But I am telling you, for our family it has been the best thing we have ever done. Has it been as easy as we thought it would be-- No!! Would we change not coming--No!!! What are our plans for the next 5 years? Don't know-- God knows and we are allowing Him to show us. Yes, we love it!!
Soccer started right away in March-- to add to the already busy schedule. Hannah played like a star this year!!! She loves this game--thrieves off it!!! She played starting goalie this year-- had at least 6 shut outs!!! Yes, my skinny baby dives after those balls!!! I cringe when they come in and her head is near their feet-- TEETH!! I have tried and tried and tried to get her to wear a mouth gaurd and within the first 5 minutes I see it going flying over the goal!! Can you say she might end up like her mom and cousin one day? I sure hope not!!! She also has just finished her 4th grade year. Now, I am still reeling from this because we moved up here when Kristin finished her 4th grade year!!! Where did time go?!!! She will be start her last year of elementary school this coming year.
I almost forgot-- Hannah had an allergic reaction to going to the dentist!!! Chris had to take her in one day because a baby tooth above the tooth in the gum was swollen-- it looked like it could be an abcess but it wasn't, however, the dentist decided to go ahead and pull the tooth to ward off any infection. Well, about 2 hours after that, while she was at piano practice, she began to swell. Swell like she had been in a fight with someone and might have come out on the losing side. We rushed her to the Walk In Clinic and they refered us back to the dentist. No, we don't know what it was YET!! I made an appointment (after going to the peditircian twice) with an allergisit for testing. We had to be off all meds for 7 days-- meaning no sinus meds. Well, it was Spring Break by this time and on Wednesday before Easter she has an asthma attack. We have't had an asthma attack in two years and here we go. So back to peditircians office at 5:30 in afternoon for a breathing treatment and meds-- inhaler and steriods (shh!! don't tell the MBA). Because of all the meds she was now on meant we had to cancel the allergist appointment. I now will reschedule bc the seasonal allergies have calmed down and we can come off all meds hopefully without an asthma attack. I will try to post pics later on!!!
Kristin: She just completed her first year of HIGH SCHOOL!!! I don't know how that happened bc I think I just finished too!!! hehehe!!! She is driving a lot now!!! She had about 4 weeks off of driving due to a softball incident. She was playing softball --we were winning and I sent her home--yes, I didn't have to send her but I did and she slips across homeplate and goes down. We all really though it was broken (this would have been her second time that she has broken her ankle). The little gator truck comes to get her off the field (they called the game with her sprawled out on homeplate yelling --MOMMY!!! MOMMY!!--we can all laugh about it now--even her teammates). Leaving the field, Chris and I are trying to decide if we should take her to the ER or go home and call Orthopedic Dr. in the morning. We went back and forth until I said -- Okay-- ER will say $100 (our co pay of ER) and go see your dr in the morning. With all this family has been through since January we knew we had plenty of pain meds -- we went home!!!
Turns out it was the worst possible sprain one could have-- 4 weeks in a boot, 2 weeks with no weight at all and now ankle braces for both ankles when she plays sports. Oh well, we are a clumsy family (both sides).
Chris: His ankle is much better, not 100% but better. He still has days but we can't complain. As you know by now, if you have kept up with this blog, Chris is an assistant football coach for a middle school. Well, in my opinion that takes up enough time-- so Chris goes and VOLUNTEERS (living in the Volunteer state doesn't mean we have to volunteer for everything) for baseball!!! WHATTTTT>?????? But he enjoyed and I got a few laughs because he knows not one thing about baseball. He loved it though. Then with one week off from baseball, Spring Football practice happened. It's him and it is what I love.
Me: Boring!! Nothing much. I have gotten on this exercise kick for the past month. I was diagnosed last year with pre-diabetes. Well, I have a friend who is an RN and said no you don't have pre-diabetes you HAVE Diabetes. Whatever is what I thought and stuffed that piece of advice in the back of my head. Last summer, I did really good with getting on top of watching what I ate and lost 10 lbs (now of which it is back). I began, about March, really thinking about the fact that I am literally killing myself not doing what I know I should be doing. So I started thinking and I bought Diabetes for Dummies!!! and What was the first thing I read-- there is no such thing as pre-diabetes it is like being kinda pregnant. Well, you either are pregnant or not!!! So I HAVE DIABETES!! There-- take hold of it and control it. That is my attitude. I started walking, I mean really walking about a month ago. I started off walking -trying to walk 4 miles a day. I managed about 3 days a week for the last month. Last week of school = stress= no walking!!! This past Saturday I started back full force!!! I walked 4 miles --with a hill this time--first time!!! Sunday, was a wash-- RAINY!!! This morning the girls and I got up, got going and went for 4 miles-- I can do 4 miles (a little more) in one hour!!! Then to top it off-- I went back out tonight and did 4 more miles!!! Word can't describe the excitement and how good it felt!!! Me, my iPod and the miles!!! I would not be defeated!!! I decided that I have to workout somehow twice a day everyday this summer (hopefully without too many rainy days or schedule changes) to get this weight off and the blood sugar under control. Then when school starts back, I can maintain and on those evenings when I have more time I can do extra. I will do this!!!
Well, there you have the run down. We have a very busy summer -- Chris, Kristin and I are going to youth camp (should be fun). We, of course, are heading to the beach for the annual Fisher beach trip. My sister is coming to visit in just a few weeks!!! Going to plan a trip to St. Louis to visit the other sister and hopefully go on to Chicago to see the Harry Potter exhibit.
We are good!!!!! We miss each of you!!! We love you all even though we are all in different places and in different phases of our lives.
