We just spent the evening down at my dad's having dinner, cutting his hair and Hannah's (it is in a cute little bob-- I will try to post pics). Dad and I were playing around on his embroidery machine and we discovered something new and realized it was late so I am going back on Monday and we will continue. I spent today unpacking boxes in my living room and collect more "junk" to take to the thrift store. My living room looks great now. We started this morning at the farmer's market. We love going to The Factory and enjoying all the fresh produce. I learned something new today--hens don't lay eggs as well in the heat. I love to buy the fresh eggs from the farmers-- they just taste better even though they cost a little more.
I started back to grad school this past Wednesday. Overwhelming is the word that best described me this week. I am going to spend tomorrow evening at Belmont's library. Now, I can't begin to tell you when the last time I spent time researching in a university's library. It's all good.
Hannah and I planted some vegetables in little peat pots a week ago and they are growing so fast now. We are going to have to get our little garden box built in the backyard this week so that we can replant them. The green beans and corn are about 4 inches high now. I will post some of those pictures also.
Kristin is enjoying her summer. She has started reading Pride and Prejudice. She can't wait to start high school next year --I can!!! She is getting more into cooking which I am enjoying having her in the kitchen. She helped make our salads last night. Cutting up the onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. She and I are going to start playing tennis. We are going to first just play for fun and this fall we are going to take lessons at the rec center.
Chris is staying really busy. Which is a good thing. He is having to get up really early now and work--that is if the work is outside b/c the heat is becoming to much. He and the girls sneak off some afternoons to fish in his uncle's pond.
Well, this blog is not inspiring but I do have some "stirrings" inside me that are wrestling around. Maybe if I am to share them with you I will. I have been doing a lot of looking inward and I am getting there-wherever there is!. One thing that I have realized is that I am learning to listen to God and be patient as He speaks and shows me why he is in control. His control is not as stressful as my control.
